Cybersecurity and Privacy often run the risk of being considered as elements in opposition to each other. Instead, it is of fundamental importance, in a sustainability context, to highlight how cybersecurity must be pursued precisely in respect of users’ privacy, and how, at the same time, security is an important tool for sustainability.
It is therefore no coincidence that, together with IT/OT integration – already explored in a previous article here on Tech Economy 2030 – the topic of privacy has emerged as one of the three priority technological areas analyzed by the research “Sustainability and Cyber Security”, carried out by the Foundation for Digital Sustainability with the contribution of Gyala: in this article we will delve into the main results that emerged from the study, also outlining the most significant impacts of this element on the sustainable development goals of Agenda 2030.
